Biography (en)

Belgian soprano Fleur Strijbos (°1997) is a passionate and versatile singer who is ready to tackle every opportunity. Fleur has build up experience with lied, opera, oratorio and contemporary repertoire.

Fleur obtained her master degree ‘Performing Arts – Vocal studies’ in June 2020 at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp ‘Magna cum laude’, where she was trained as a professional singer under the guidance of soprano Anne Cambier. During the academic year 2020-2021, Fleur specialized her technical and musical skills with a postgraduate course ‘Vocal Studies’ at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg in the class of Professor Barbara Bonney and Gaiva Bandzinaite. For her studies Fleur was generously supported by the Mitialto Foundation and SWUK Vlaanderen VZW.

In 2019, she performed the role of ‘Miss Wordsworth’ in the opera ‘Albert Herring’ composed by Benjamin Britten at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. In October 2020, she performed together with pianist Simon De Paepe on the stage of the Flemish Opera as part of Antwerp Liedfest ‘Next Generation’. In April 2021, Fleur was selected as one of Ghent Festival Flanders 'Young Talent' who support her career with a portfolio, an online concert and a live concert during the upcoming festival in September 2021. In June 2021, Fleur took part in the ‘Puccini Festival Academy 2021’ where she enjoyed masterclasses by Renata Scotto, Cesare Scarton, Marco Voleri, Clarry Bartha and Massimo Iannone.

In July and August 2021 Fleur will take part as ‘Ancella di Turandot’ in the opera production ‘Turandot’ composed by Giacomo Puccini at the Puccini Festival 2021.
