Fleur Strijbos (°1997) is a Belgian lyric soprano.
Fleur grew up in a musical family and took music lessons at an early age at the private music school De Gouden Toets. At the age of 14, she decided to study ‘music’ at the Kunsthumaniora Turnhout, where she discovered her passion for classical singing with teacher Katrine Druyts. She continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Under the guidance of soprano Anne Cambier, she completed her final exam classical singing with the greatest distinction. In June 2020 Fleur obtained her master's degree with great distinction.
Fleur is a passionate singer with a love for Liederkunst. Since 2018, she forms a liedduo with pianist Simon De Paepe. Their collaboration started at the Royal Conservaroty of Antwerp, where they enjoyed the musical coaching by Lucienne Van Deyck and Jozef De Beenhouwer. In October 2020 they performed together on the stage of the Flemish Opera as part of Antwerp Liedfest ‘Next Generaton’.
Besides the Lied repertoire, Fleur also found her place in the opera repertoire. In 2019 she performed the role of Miss Wordsworth from the opera Albert Herring composed by Benjamin Britten at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. At the moment, Fleur is working on Mozart roles under the guidance of soprano Barbara Bonney and pianist Gaiva Bandzinaite.
Since October 2020, Fleur studies classical singing at the Mozarteum Salzburg as a postgraduate student with Professor Barbara Bonney. For this she is generously supported by the Mitialto foundation and SWUK Vlaanderen VZW.
